groan

well...

the house is a disaster, I keep getting colds, and no Christmasn Shopping has been done. Mostly because my Christmas money will not arrive for a few more days though:)

I will have my next scan with bub soon to determine how things are developing. They can sod off if they thing they will be doing anything more invasive than that!

sigh

I find myslef wondering how much of these tests are all in the numbers. For instance causing a pregnant woman to nealry have a heart attack, because the baby might have a higer chance of trsiomy 21 and 18, just because Mum is "old". And the woman who did the nuchal scan did a shitty job! how can you not "find" and ovary???? Easy, you forget to even look, and then say "it's not my fault, it's the Mum, she's fat!!

For the record, I might be a bit heavier than I was before, but ultra sound works on morbidly obese people, so I resent the implication, that I'm at fault for stupidity and laziness.

And no we won't be having anything more invasive done testwise, as we are not going to terminate, so what's the point?

gripe gripe!

The funny thing is, I'm Pro choice, always have been, always will be. Perhaps the medical profession needs to understand that this means,I beleive that all women have the absolute right to determine what happens to their own body. This means that you do not ever have the right to tell a women that she has to contine with a pregnancy, and in the same line of thought, you don't ever assume that a woman should not contine with a pregnancy either.

grrrr

1st scan!

Well, there is only one bub in there:-)

as it turns out though, he or she is slightly too small to do the nucal scan thing, so I have to go back in a week. However, we could see a tiny heartbeat, a tiny skull, and arms and legs, so things look good so far:-)

Limbo

I feel a bit like I'm in limbo here with this pregnancy. I know I'm pregnant, but it's still too early to feel and movement, or have a bump and I haven't had a scan yet.

and I get worried because I've now been sick for 2 weeks, and I can't help but worry that it's been bad for the baby:(

Dear *** Childcare

the childcare centre just did something really stupid. DS is fine, and happy, but another child also called ***** was just picked up by his grandma, and someone called *** at *** called me instead of this other child's family, asking if it was ok that he had just been picked up.

2 things

1 they called the wrong person, and for a minute I thought that DS was missing, I'm still shaking

2 they allowed someone else to pick up this other child and THEN checked if it was ok.

I don't know what to do:( I'm really very stressed by all of this.

woo, cheap baby stuff!

Drove out to "haggle Baby" this morning.....

Grobags buy one get one free! I got 4...so we now have 2 in each size...which makes for less constant washing:)

and an Angelcare Monitor for the new bub:) I love the Angelcare monitor, I'm very paranoid about SIDS, so anything that lets me feel a bit more secure about having a nap while the baby is asleep is a good thing. I remember someone on a forum saying that there was no point is using a movement monitor, because they don't prevent SIDS. This is entirely correct of course! A movement monitor let's you know that the child may have stopped breathing though, and gives enough time to start CPR and call an ambulance.

update!

I got the planting done:) woo!!!

still heaps of room in the patch....I'll need to look at what else to put in.....

have to get motivated....

I have to attempt to get a few things done today... I have some really nice seedlings from the farmers market to go in the ground, and dishes to wash, nappies etc.

DS looks much better today:-) he's had a cold for a week, which my DH and I both caught, and whick turned my morning sickness into a nightmare...blergh.

so today I plant 2 different types of kale, lettuce and more herbs. They join my 3 sisters planting of corn, pumpkin and peas, and the tomates and lettuce I already have in:-) I want to get as much established as possible before the belly get's in the way:-).DH has orders a couple of those upside down tomatie planters form Cath of The Day as well...could be fun, maybe the possumes won't get as many.

As I'm only working minimal hours during this pregnancy, and will take off a full year again (and may even quit), I want to get a good garden going. The more we grow the better. I want to get some chickens at some point as well. Eggs, and meat if they don't lay well. Once we've got rid of the dead trees, and the silly ones (none of these are native or significant!, I'm going to get in more fruit trees. Oranges, apples, and I'd love a decent olive tree.

all pipe dreams at the moment....hint to any family members who are reading this....we need fruit trees for Christmas!!!!

8 weeks and 6 days pregnant.

8 weeks and 6 days.

still a couple of weeks until I can see a picture of you for the first time.

I'm more comfortable with this pregnancy, I think the decision to hire an independant midwife was the right one. I still remember waiting to see the OBGYN when I was expecting your big brother, and feeling like I was waiting to see the Headmaster.

I'm in my late 30's for goodness sakes!!!! Why is is that women are treated like children when we are pregnant? Suddenly everyone tells you what you should be eating, ( by this I mean the ones who tell you not to eat curry or peanuts, not genuine advice re listeria) It's okay to touch you belly, (it's not! the technical term is "common assult"). Don't run, don't pick anything up. etc.

this time, the pregnancy goes my way, and I will give birth to you where I choose:)
